Well, It looks like the Highlandtown Art-Ket will postponed until next week. Luckily, thanks to tips from Midges Mind and Annie and Imogene, I have a back up plan. I am taking the “Pre-Teen Step-Broken Plate” to go see Who Does She Think She Is? at the Baltimore Women’s Film Festival tomorrow. She may be bored to tears, but I am hoping that maybe it will teach her something (or at least she will understand a little more about what I do and why I do it.) Here is a little synopsis from the website. Please go watch the tralier!
In a half-changed world, women often feel they have to choose: mothering or working? Your children’s wellbeing or your own? Responsibility or self-expression? Who Does She Think She Is? features five bold women who navigate some of the most problematic intersections of our time: mothering and creativity, partnering and independence, economics and art. Along the way, the film invites us to consider ancient legacies where women were worshipped as cultural muses, to more modern times when most people can’t even name a handful of female artists. In the end, the diverse women in the film demonstrate that creativity and care-giving are not mutually exclusive, but deeply connected. In fact, their co-existence might just be the key to finishing the job.
