Good Bye 2008! Hell-looo 2009!

29 December 2008 582 views One Comment

I am not sure that I have ever been more sick of a year, then 2008. Don’t get me wrong, it was not awful, and it may just be my love for odd numbers, but I am really looking forward to 2009.

My only resolution is to get Nolan into some part-time day care. Any other resolutions about working out, making better work, and reading more will not happen until day care does. I am pretty sure I have found the place for just a few days a week and am looking forward to being able to get more done.

It is the time of year for new planners, new ideas, and a fresh approach. I am really excited to work on some new designs with my friend Whitney. We will be working on designing a fine jewelry line of my work, which I hope will be more “wholesale-friendly.” I am really excited to evolve my work and possibly get into a catalog or two. (More news on that later…)

To help me in my creative evolution, I have been reading Twyla Tharp’s “The Creative Habit.” This is a fantastic book at serves as a reminder that even the most creative people had to work extremely hard and practice every day to make their finest work. By creating habits and ritual’s and being creative every day, I hope to come up with tons of new ideas. This is where this mug comes in. I just ordered it from PardonmyVintage, and it will serve as my thinking cup. Everyday, as I savor the last silent moments of Nolan’s naptime, I will drink a cup of coffee and sketch out new ideas.

So, stay tuned! I hope to have many new things to show you next year!
