New Puppy Dog Necklace For the MD SPCA

The SPCA March for the Animals is coming up this weekend! I am collecting donations with the Baltimore Etsy Street Team Pack in honor of Bella’s late boyfriend Beauman and her cousin Nixxie. I’d be honored if you donated to my effort. The BEST Pack has already collected $570 and I would love to make it even more.
If you’d like a goodie in exchange for your donation, I am offering this necklace on my Etsy page. Half of the selling price will go straight to the Maryland SPCA.

Recycled Porcelain Thimble Necklaces

I break a lot of plates. A lot. I really wish that I kept track from the beginning, but who knew that this would be my full time job a few years ago? I sure didn’t. I tell you this because I have a confession. I get tired of breaking plates sometimes. It’s true. (remember my brief thing with doll arms?)
Enter: porcelain thimbles!
I love them. They are so much like plates in that you never know what bizarre image you will find on them. I have found cool advertising images …

What’s new?

I have been busy posting some of the leftover work to my Etsy shop. I still have a ton of pieces to photograph and post, so I am trying to do a little bit each day.
In press news, I have a belt buckle in this months Boho Magazine. This is an awesome new magazine which focuses on stylish eco-friendly goodies. It is even printed on recycled paper. Definitely worth checking out if you see it on newsstands.

In fun news, Deborah Weiner of WBAL TV was spotted rocking a broken plate necklace! Thanks Deborah!

New work!

Can you tell I am having fun with my circles? I am. Everyday J comes home and I bombard him with all of the new ways that I want to assemble them. He kind of looks at me like I am nuts, but I might just be.
My new favorites are this necklace and this bracelet. I really like combining a few different patterns in one piece. I will be adding them to my Etsy shop and taking what does not sell to ACC with me in February.

Not just broken, more like pulverized.

Sorry for being M.I.A. but I have been feverishly working on a top secret project. In the mean time, I have been doing a lot of experimentation with the possibilities of recycled plate crafts. Some of my new favorites are these new rings and cuff links made out of crushed plate in resin. It is a not-so-literal version of a broken plate ring that is sure to be a conversation piece. They are now available in my Etsy Shop!

Checking in.

I have created a new section in my Etsy shop where you can browse all of my Etsy collaborations for charity. These are quickly turning into my some of my favorite pieces! I recently added the goodies to the left, made from broken plates sent to me by Just Mare.  I instantly fell in love with this ceramic artist from Arizona after seeing (and buying) her Chickadee mug on the front page of Etsy. $5 from each sale will benefit The Humane Society of Central AZ.
I am slowly building up stock for the upcoming craft show season. My first …

Just checking in.

Hello World! I Just wanted to check in for a moment and let you know what I have been up to. My next show is not until Artscape next month, so I am spending time filling wholesale orders, finishing up some wedding sets and trying to get a bit more creative with my jewelry. The piece to the left will be in a show in November at Baltimore Clayworks along with 12 other pieces. I am having fun experimenting a bit and getting out of my little pendant making box. I …

Collaboration with Little Flower Designs

I often say that my pendants are only as nice as the plate that they originally came from. Nothing illustrates this more then this set made from a broken platter by Little Flower Designs. It would be impossible to make something ugly from this plate! =)
At a recent craft show, an unforutate gust of wind came and blew this lovely floral platter to the ground, breaking it into pieces. I felt bad for poor Linda, but was a bit excited to get my hands on the shards!
With permission from the …

Cosa Verde

I was lucky enough to meet Liz and Jeff of Cosa Verde at The Summit of Awesome a few weeks ago. They are a crafting/programming couple who have combined their talents to create this amazing website that makes it easy to navigate the sea green craft. In their words “We wanted to make it easy to find great green goods for your neo-hippie niece, your grandpa who doesn’t believe in global-warming, and everyone in-between.” I love the laid back, non-preachy vibe of the site that gives you the feeling that …

I will be debuting my new set up and TONS of new work, (about 400 pieces and it is only Tuesday.) I will also do my best to bring a fresh batch of I’m so crafty, I make People maternity T’s.
