Thanks AGAIN Baltimore Magazine!

Just as our 15 minutes passed, Baltreestimore Magazine decided to give us some extra love by dedicating a whole page to our magazine release party in the February issue. I am so proud of Tya for having her work published in B-more Mag, finally!
In related news, I had a photo shoot in Maryland Life Magazine today for a feature they are doing on my work. Word is that it may be a couple pages! I am still waiting word on when it will be published, but you know I will …

Craft NOW!

Sorry I have been a bit quiet lately, I am having the hardest time getting over the holiday burnout. I have been busy working on some custom orders and working on getting more custom work. I have added a page to this site for people who are interested in getting custom jewelry from recycled china here.
In other news, I have been asked by the American Craft Council show to do a demo of my process at the show in the Convention Center this February! I am a bit nervous about …

New Cards Inspired by Willow Ware China

‘Two birds flying high,
A Chinese vessel, sailing by.
A bridge with three men, sometimes four,
A willow tree, hanging o’er.
A Chinese temple, there it stands,
Built upon the river sands.
An apple tree, with apples on,
A crooked fence to end my song.’

Happy Holidays!

I just wanted to say Happy Holiday’s to everyone who happens to check in with this blog over the next couple of days! I am going to do my best to hang up my hammer and keyboard until at least Monday. (This is what I am telling Mr. Broken Plate, at least!)
So thank you to all of my loyal readers, I am truly grateful to everyone who has supported this odd little project of mine. Being able to break plates for a living is truly my American dream, thanks for coming …

Sarah’s Smash Shack! Road Trip, anyone??

When the holiday hit, I slacked on the plate breaking videos, but when I saw this I had to share. Everyone who visits my booth at craft shows remarks, “Your job must be such a stress release!”  Well, not really, but if I was throwing plates against a wall, listening to hardcore punk music, it might be.
Sarah’s Smash Shack, in San Diego, Ca. might just be worth a cross country trip. The “break rooms” are equipped with a sound system that you can plug you mp3 player right into! The menu (yes, I …

Nolan says, Save Handmade!

I think I was still pregnant when Mr. Broken Plate came running up to my craft show booth, absolutely glowing about his recent purchase for the baby. He pulled out this handmade Dead Kennedy’s T-shirt by Sweet Pepita. A little while later I went over to her both, met Shannon, and fell completely in love with her shirts. I have even gotten some custom stuff since then, including this Guinness T, handmade from the first thing Mr. Broken Plate ever gave me for St. Patricks day. Every time Nolan wears one of …
